The Butler Trust is an independent charity which recognises excellence and innovation by people working with offenders in the UK. Through its Annual Award Scheme and Development Programme, the Trust helps to develop effective care for offenders by:

• identifying and promoting excellence and innovation by Prison and Probation Service and criminal justice social work staff, contractors and volunteers;
• developing and disseminating best practice in the care and resettlement of offenders throughout the UK.
• providing professional and personal development opportunities for award-winning staff.

A Reliance team working at HMP Hewell Grange, recently received the Court Escort/Court Custody Award for their involvement in a ground-breaking scheme to provide support to newly sentenced and remanded prisoners. A second Reliance team at Falkirk Sheriff Court Custody Unit also won a Certificate Award for their enviable record of no complaints or serious incidents within the court.
