Reliance Facilities Management

Innovation

A constant desire to innovate and seek other ways to continuously improve lies at the heart of the Reliance Difference.  In this way we can be confident that our services reflect the changing needs and priorities of our customers.

All Reliance Facilities Management people are trained in the process of continuous improvement and everyone is encouraged to take responsibility for continually improving aspects of their own work.  The Reliance Academy has created a popular place to meet, learn from each other, and share best practices, ensuring innovations are filtered throughout our operations.

Examples of Innovation

Red Book
Our culture of innovation and continuous improvement is exemplified by the Red Book scheme. This is a powerful communication tool which we use to encourage new ideas and the spread of best practice.  All our people are invited to suggest improvements to the operation of their sites, or the environment in which they work, in the Red Book. Our management team and our customers review these suggestions regularly, and the ideas are implemented wherever possible, with rewards for those successful suggestions.

Lone Working Technology
We have recently introduced a Lone Worker security protection system, called SoloProtect, for employees working in potentially vulnerable situations.  Using the latest blue-tooth technology, Identicom, 24/7 manned monitoring and mobile response, provided by Reliance Security Services, SoloProtect ensures that lone workers can call upon the back-up they need, where and when they need it.

Identicom provides a discreet  means of alerting our 24 hour manned monitoring centre to the member of staff.  Whether injured or facing physical or verbal abuse, the monitoring centre will be able to listen to and record what occurs during the incident, and ensure proportionate and immediate action is implemented.
