Reliance FM sponsors BSRIA guide

Reliance Facilities Management is supporting the new BSRIA Whole-Life Costing Analysis Guide as a contribution to promote better understanding of the on-going cost of operation, maintenance and disposal of assets. The publication is a very welcome addition to BSRIA’s expanding library of guides for those involved in the construction and building services industry. Taking a longer term view of costs of assets encompasses more than planning for reduced operating costs. It enables reduced energy consumption and therefore costs and environmental impact as well as minimizing costly and disruptive replacement projects. Whole life costing is not an exact science and The BSRIA Whole-Life Costing Analysis Guide reflects that sentiment. The Guide does however provide guidance on when it is appropriate to apply the principles and when the potential benefits are outweighed by the cost of the exercise. ‘We are delighted to be supporting this publication. Reliance Facilities Management believes that whole-life costing is an essential and intelligent way of considering investments. We integrate this thinking into every customer site that we manage by understanding the importance of maintaining the whole systems and not just the constituent parts,’ commented Jane Skelton, MD of Reliance Facilities Management. ‘The opportunities for the facilities management sector to influence a positive environmental agenda, as well as a more thoughtful approach to cost management prove the timeliness of this guide.’
