Description

The terrorist attacks in London during July 2005 dramatically highlighted the need for businesses of all sizes to plan how they deal with the disruption caused by a major crisis, emergency or incident.

This ‘Project Argus’ event is aimed at Security, HR & Facilities Managers in businesses located within crowded places in urban settings. Whether in retail or office based environments, Project ARGUS can confer benefits in terms of raising awareness about the threat from terrorism and provides practical advice on preventing, handling and recovering from an attack.

 

The event will provide you with the unique opportunity to:

 

· Work with like-minded businesses on how to reduce your vulnerability

· Work directly with experts from the emergency services in understanding their response to an incident, counter terrorism security measures and business continuity.

· Combine the efforts of businesses in the local area to help each other recover after an incident.

· Develop an incident / business continuity plan.

· Increase your awareness on counter terrorism issues.

 

This complimentary event will last for 3 hours and has been organised by Reliance Security Services, in conjunction with Surrey Police, the Fire Brigade, the Ambulance Service and Surrey Police Counter Terrorism Command.

 

The event will enable you and your business to respond more effectively following a serious incident in your area. We urge you to take this opportunity to help you prepare for such an incident.

 

Following on from the event, you will be offered the opportunity to continue working as a group to develop your skills to prepare for and deal with major incidents. This will include Crime Prevention, Safer Neighbourhood teams and Counter Terrorist Security Advisors. Surrey Police will retain your details to enable them to contact you in the future.

 

The event will start at 10.00am and close at around 1.00pm with a buffet lunch on departure. Welcome refreshments will be served from 9.30am.
