Custodial Services
In partnership with NOMS and the Scottish Prison Service, Reliance transports 420,000 detainees annually. We employ 909 officers operating 400 specialised vehicles from 18 bases across 22 police services. Every day we visit up to 230 police custody centres to move arrested people to court. Reliance continues to achieve high performance levels, while reducing prisoner escapes and improving timely delivery to court.
Outside of our police service contracts, we employ over 780 officers who provide custody management at 350 Crown, County and Magistrates Courts in England & Wales and High, Sheriff and District Courts in Scotland.
Custodial ServicesYouth Justice
Reliance moves 3,500 juvenile offenders across the UK annually on behalf of the YJB (Youth Justice Board); requiring dedicated vehicles and specially trained people.
All of these activities have removed significant time and effort previously required by police and prison officers to move offenders around the country, and to supervise them in courts.
