Reliance Secure Task Management is a market leader in the UK of services to the police and has a track record of working in partnership to provide first class secure processes. The proven benefits are considerable, reducing the time required by senior police staff to manage these services and transferring non-core activities to specialists. Substantial savings have been achieved in resources and revenue, while releasing uniformed officers back to frontline duties.

Our experience for other government agencies is directly transferable to the police sector in areas such as those below;

Evidential Property

The storage of evidential property, its cataloguing, timely appearance at court and correct disposal or return to its rightful owner can be a logistics nightmare for any police service.

The outsourcing of property management can relieve police services of the burden imposed by the storage of these items, freeing police officers and in some cases providing an improved service for members of the public, police services and victims of crime.

Detainee Transport

In partnership with NOMS and the Scottish Prison Service, Reliance transports 420,000 detainees annually. Reliance employs 909 officers operating 400 specialised vehicles from 18 bases across 22 police services. Every day we visit up to 230 police custody centres to move arrested people to court. Reliance continues to achieve high performance levels, while reducing prisoner escapes and improving timely delivery to court.

Reliance moves 3,500 juvenile offenders across the UK annually on behalf of the YJB (Youth Justice Board); requiring dedicated vehicles and specially trained people. These activities have removed significant time and effort previously required by police and prison officers
moving offenders around the country, and supervising them in courts.

Reliance also operates a national network moving offenders under Police Warrant from any location in the UK, to police stations across Scotland. We also provide officers to escort and monitor offenders on medical or compassionate leave from prison or to conduct a hospital watch.

Vehicle Management

The maintenance of vehicles can be a time consuming activity, often involving more than just the affected vehicle and often two people. Rather than diverting valuable police resources from frontline duties for the ferrying of vehicles to and from service centres the management and transportation of these vehicles can be outsourced to Reliance.

We can ensure that the vehicles are clean and maintained in a safe condition ready for operational requirements; providing basic and minor repairs and a valeting service.

The fleet management service can include the chauffeuring of police officers and staff between offices or on assignments.
