Design, build and operate
Having project managed the construction of a building, Reliance will then ensure that it remains operational to a high standard. Our facilities management services include cleaning, building maintenance, catering, grounds maintenance, post room facilities, reception and helpdesks, security and M & E services.
PFI Projects
The Health and Safety Executive
In 2002, the Health and Safety Executive appointed a consortium to finance, design, construct and manage a new headquarters building. The brief specified a 30,000m² (gross) of efficient low energy workspace to bring together 1,500 staff located in several different buildings across Bootle, Liverpool.
Achieving a BREEAM excellent rating, the building encorporates both passive and cost effective active heating and ventilation methods including a rainwater harvesting system providing grey water to the toilet facilities.
Reliance Facilities Management took a 25% share in Bootle Accommodation Partnership Ltd, the special purpose vehicle, using their significant experience of the soft service provision for the operational management considerations.
Reliance Facilities Management worked in close collaboration with Honeywell Controls on important issues such as TUPE transfer for the established team from the HSE Bootle estate.
Focusing on excellent customer service, managing risk and supporting the needs of the users, the partnership has also created the basis for developing closer relationships with the local community.
The Police
Reliance is one of the most successful organisations involved in PFIs for police authorities across the UK, with a total of nine buildings in operation. We provide a range of services to the police including custody management, forensic medicine, DNA drug testing, ID Parades, police training and bail management.
Sussex Police - needed leading edge custody suites and through PFI obtained these in a service which includes the full management of custody.
Gloucestershire Constabulary - centralised head office functions into one very modern purpose built strategically located office. This is one of the largest geothermal projects in Europe.
Cleveland Police - needed new divisional and town centre police stations as part of their Putting People First campaign.
